Important Installation Instructions

The following installation instructions apply to all ASIST applications. Before installing your software review the following information and make any necessary changes before continuing with software installation. Once you have finished select the appropriate link at the left to access your software.

Windows Settings (Critical)
All of the ASIST products track time and date information. Because of the need to accurately display date information in the ASIST navigation window you will need to verify that your computer has been set to handle four digit dates. You can do this by opening the Control Panel and selecting Regional Settings. Go to the Date tab and verify that the Short Date Style is set to "MM/dd/yyyy".

Note: XP and Vista Users will need to select the Customize option from the Regional Settings form and then select the Date tab.

Support Software
ASIST products are database systems that utilize Microsoft technology to communicate with their respective databases. In extremely rare cases you may need to upgrade the Microsoft components that support database communication. Normally this can be accomplished by using the Windows Update feature for your current Microsoft Operating System. If you cannot use the Windows Update feature you can upgrade these components manually by installing the files listed below.

MDAC
MDAC, Microsoft Universal Data Access, is a Microsoft product that controls how a computer communicates with a database. On most computers MDAC is already installed from the manufacturer or has come with one of your Microsoft products. If MDAC is missing from your system or if the version of MDAC on your computer is a version previous to version 2.7 then you will first need to be install this version before installing the ASIST software.
