Getting started

The ASIST software system consists of two parts, an application interface and a collection of database files. The application must be installed on each computer that will be accessing the databases. The databases can be installed on any mapped network drive that the user can browse to. To install ASIST Enterprise follow the steps below.

1. Download the software. Download the software installation files from the internet and save them to a folder on your computer. Important note: DO NOT RUN THIS FILE FROM THE INTERNET. SAVE IT TO A FOLDER ON YOUR COMPUTER AND THEN RUN IT.

Network Administrators: Users must have full READ/WRITE permissions to the folder in which the application is installed and to the folder where the databases are located. The Enterprise application must be installed locally on each computer that is accessing the databases.

3. Connect to the databases. Once installed start the software by double clicking on the desktop icon. You will be prompted to connect to the databases that you received with your software purchase. The first database that you must connect to is the Login database. Click the blue folder icon to the right of the prompt and navigate to the Login database, select it and click OK.
